Today, after a a few weeks of head-down work, I am launching Content Strategy Hub.
A couple weeks ago I made a “pre-announcement announcement“ about the launch of my new content strategy site. Since then a few things have happened.
I’ve been tinkering with design. I’ve been reading about design theories. I’ve been editing and changing the look and layout. I’ve been trying to figure out which was the right way to go.
I’ve been creating introductory content in the form of a Content Strategy 101 series. I’ve outlined. I’ve written. I’ve erased. I’ve re-written. I’ve debated adding slideshows. I’ve debated adding video. I’ve debated rewriting again. I’ve edited some more. I’ve changed the order and the breakdowns.
I’ve set up opt-in forms in different areas and tried to make them as trackable as possible.
I’ve tried to optimize pages for a given result.
I’ve interviewed some HUGE names in the online world for an interview series.
I’ve been working my ass off to get this done. So is it perfect? Probably not. But I think it’s time to make the “announcement announcement.”
An Interjection
I think that business owners often get stuck in a “perfectionist” mode – not launching a product, a service, or a website until it is absolutely perfect.
But what is ever absolutely perfect? Nothing…that’s what.
Especially in the eyes of the business owner. You are emotionally connected to your projects because they are yours. They almost become a part of you. So you worry about them.
Your business and your life go hand in hand…
A Brutal Interview
The business/life connection is a point I took away from one of the most brutal interviews I’ve ever heard.
If you haven’t had the chance to check out Steve Roy’s interview with Penelope Trunk yet, I suggest you do so.
Penelope quickly turned the interview. I even got a little uncomfortable listening to it at times. While her delivery may have not been pleasant, the message was clear: what are you actually doing to get the life you want?
I really commend Steve for publishing this interview un-edited. That takes balls. I’m not sure how many people would have done the same. And there is a lot of value there.
So listen to the interview and ask yourself “what am I actually doing for myself and my business today?”
Back to Me
For myself, I can answer that question clearly today. I am launching Content Strategy Hub.
And I am doing it with a bang!
I’ve asked 26 [brilliant!] people a few questions about content strategy. Today you can see the first part of the series: 26 Brilliant Minds Discuss Business Publishing.
So go there, check it out, and feel free to leave some feedback
But before you do, leave a comment below…what have you done for your life and business today?

It’s finally here! You’ve written good and informative blogs and you launching a content strategy site will be super cool! All the best man!
Congrats Eugene! Way to go! I’ve clicked on the link but haven’t read the material yet. From what I see though it looks like it’s going to be an awesome site. I look forward to reading the material! Kudos again to ya!
Thanks Deeone! I appreciate it.
Great concept, Eugene!
I only recognize about five people n your list, but that just makes it more exciting, i’m in for a treat if the rest are on the same level.
I tried to target people that are in the “content marketing/strategy” niche. And of course a few I like to interact with on a regular basis. I’m thankful they took the time to respond.
Before anything, I would like to congratulate you! You have a very inspiring post. I really have to answer the question “what have you done for your life and business today?”. I really have to make sense in this life. Thank you for this put up. I am currently listening to Penelope podcast.
Thanks Andreas, I think there’s a lot of good take-aways in that podcast.
Congrats for your new site!! I hope I can take full benefit from your new blog.
Thanks Aaron!
Congratulations! You have a very inspiring post. I really have to answer the question “what have you done for your life and business today?”. I hope I can take full benefit from your new blog.
Eugene,
Once again, congrats on getting the new site rolling. I know the amount of work it takes and it looks to me like you put the right amount of prep into this to hit the ground running.
Your point on perfectionism is spot on too. It is good to want to get things “right” Nit-picking just ensures you never really get anything done.
It is important to do a good job, but giid is good enough, if you find mistakes later you can always correct them. (I know I have done about 4 minor site designs over the past… nearly two years)
Anyhow congrats!
Yeah, I don’t know if what I have up now is what it’ll end up being even 2 weeks from now. I just know it’s important to start somewhere and fix as you go along, otherwise you’ll never get anywhere.
Eugene,
Nice to hear man. Glad you’re making moves! I’ve been in the lab myself.
I wish your new hub the best of luck!
Thanks Jk, your lab project is looking pretty good
Hey Eugene,
I listened to that interview on Ending The Grind. It was brutally honest is all that I can say.
Brutally honest is a good way to describe it. A lot of good takeaways from it…but it was uncomfortable to listen to at times.
Hi, Eugene!
Hmm…what have I done for my life and business today? I’ve been, honestly, busy with private aspects of my life, so I just organized myself and planned my tomorrow’s day ahead. Right now, I am catching some time to read posts, and sometimes make comments on them, if I find the posts worth the effort and time invested.
I wish you luck with content strategy hub. As for the first part of the series, I will check it out right away.
Thank Kristina! Hope you enjoy it
Thanks for the link. I have been searching for tips on a content that would attract a lot of visitors. I consider myself a novice on online marketing and I am trying to learn as much as I can on the strategies and techniques on how to market my products online.
I see you managed to get some great names from this niche. Not that we lack people, but most are just copycats and offer nothing new. Spotting the good ones is not always that easy.
I went after the big names in content marketing. And I’m VERY happy that a lot of them responded. There’s a lot of value in that post (thanks to them) I think.
There really is a lot to learn about how to market your niche. I am new in marketing and it really takes a lot of hardship for me creating content to promote my product. Checking now your content strategy 101 this will give me a whole lot more ways which could be worth using. Thanks.
